FAQ

What types of harmful impurities are found in drinking water?

Impurities found in drinking water can be broadly classified into:

A) Suspended impurities such as mud, dust, sand, bacteria, viruses, cysts, etc

B) Dissolved impurities that become soluble in water such as :

  • 1. Pesticides (commonly found in borewell water)
  • 2. Arsenic & Fluoride (found in groundwell water)
  • 3. Heavy Metals salts like mercury, lead, copper, cadmium (from industrial wastes)

Most waterborne diseases are caused by the presence of bacteria and virus in water.

  1. Bacteria Causes: gastro-enteritis, typhoid, cholera, paratyphoid, dysentery and diarrhoea.
  2. Virus Causes: polio, dysentery, gastro-enteritis, and diarrhoea. In addition, worm infestations are commonly caused through contaminated water.

During the rains, sewage water mixes with drinking water sources and the distribution systems. It contaminates the water with pathogens that cause water borne disease like cholera, typhoid, paratyphoid, jaundice, diarrhoea, gastroenteritis, dysentery etc.

The corporation water is not purified, but only treated. In most of the cases, water is treated or chlorinated using bleaching powder. Chlorination does not completely remove the impurities from water. Besides, chlorination itself contributes to making the water less potable, which means the water that reaches your kitchen, is loaded with impurities

The consumption of electricity in water purifiers is negligible compared to other electric equipment in your house. Be Pure has a power consumption of 25 watts. It consumes 1 unit current in 40 hours, in which it can purify 4800 L of drinking water. On an average, we use 15 L of purified water per day in a house. According to this calculation, a household normally requires 7300 litres of water per year. So the electric consumption will be approximately 1.52 units per year. (Power consumption may vary slightly for different models)

Before you buy a purifier you need to get your water tested to find out what water condition you are faced with. Once you get the results you can pick a purifier that is equipped with the right technology to treat your water.

Dissolved Impurities such as Pesticides, Rust, Heavy Metals, Arsenic, Fluoride etc. are harmful to our health. They may cause serious diseases such as cholera, hepatitis A & B, jaundice, typhoid and even cancer. They also spoil the taste of water. When these dissolved impurities are removed, the water becomes healthy as well as tasty.

The most commonly used methods of purification are Chlorination, Boiling, Ultra filtration (UF), Ultra Violet (UV) Disinfection and Reverse Osmosis (RO) Purification.

Boiling kills bacteria and viruses but does not remove harmful dissolved impurities such as Pesticides, Rust, Heavy Metals, Arsenic, Fluoride etc. Just as we cannot remove dissolved salts from water by boiling, similarly we cannot remove dissolved impurities from water by boiling.

Presence of such impurities in water may cause serious diseases such as cholera, hepatitis A & B, jaundice, typhoid and even cancer.

The need of the hour is to have a purification technology which effectively removes harmful dissolved impurities such as Pesticides, Rust, Heavy Metals, Arsenic, Fluoride, etc apart from other impurities like bacteria and viruses. At the same time, the purifier should retain essential natural minerals in drinking water. It should also work efficiently over a long period of time.

Thankfully, such a purification technology is available with smart BePure water purifiers with alkaline technology.

Natural minerals are essential for our health. In conventional RO water purifiers, these natural minerals get removed along with dissolved impurities. This makes the water mineral-less. Such water may be harmful to our health and can cause mineral deficiency in the body.

BePure's Alkaline RO water purifiers are equipped with Alkaline Cartridges, which retains essential natural minerals in the purified water.

Quality Certificates are issued by a third party, comprising of International water experts, after they perform stringent tests in accordance with international standards.

Not only the quality of water but also that of the water purifier is tested for its sturdiness and effectiveness over a long period of time. The certificate denotes that performance of the water purifier has been rigorously tested by a neutral agency and it has complied with all the testing standards.

In the water industry, such certifications are provided by renowned laboratories of the world such as WQA and NSF in USA, who have set the world standards for water purification.

Continuous availability of pure water to one's family is essential. Keeping this in mind, it is important to have a good after-sales service back-up, so that in case any problem arises, it can be addressed in the least possible time.

Water softening is a technique that serves the removal of the ions that cause the water to be hard, in most cases calcium and magnesium ions. Iron ions may also be removed during softening. The best way to soften water is to use a water softener unit and connect it directly to the water supply.

Reverse osmosis (RO) is a water purification technology that uses a semipermeable membrane to remove ions, molecules, and larger particles from drinking water.

Ultraviolet (UV) is a safe, clean, easy-to-maintain method of assuring that water is free of bacteria. UV Water Purification uses Ultraviolet light, just like sunlight, to kill micro-organisms that may be in the water. It is a proven technology that has no significant drawbacks.

We have an all India service model with service franchise in every location to give localised installation and service with a lead time on 24 hours.

We use a water purifier for more than 3 years. Storing water in Plastic tank for such long time is not healthy and hygienic as plastic can be mixed in water which we consume. This problem is resolved if the purifier has a stainless steel storage tank. Stainless steel storage is long lasting and hygienic.

Generally after purification through a regular water purifier water becomes acidic where the pH of water decreases to 5.5 to 6.5. In an alkaline water purifier, this pH is balanced to 7.5 to 8.5 range through a alkaline mineral cartridge as well as ORP is decreased and hence producing alkaline antioxidant water. Consuming alkaline water on regular basis is far healthier than consuming acidic water regularly.

Yes. When storage tank gets full the purifier automatically stops and when water is taken from purifier the purifier start auto and fills the tank.
